WHO WE ARE

International Orchestra of Campania (registered with the Chamber of Commerce of Benevento – Ateco code 90.02.09) was founded in Benevento in 2010 as a reestablishment of a previous organization that had been operating since 1997. It has maintained its mission and artistic management, which involves promoting musical culture, especially opera and symphony, through independent events, periodic programming, tours, and collaborations with pop contamination events, TV musical events, and production and realization of POC and POR projects funded by the Campania Region ERDF 2007-13 and 2014-20.  Starting from Benevento and the historic territory of Sannio, in 11 years - since 2010 - the Cooperative has organized and produced around 700 public concerts in Benevento, Campania, and throughout the country, primarily symphonic and opera concerts involving Italian and foreign orchestras, choirs, and collaborating with renowned soloists.  Since its inception has been a key player in periodic programming primarily in Benevento, the center of cultural activities, and subsequently expanded throughout the country. Some noteworthy events include the annual "New Year's Concert" (now in its XXIX edition) of the opera season at the Roman Theater of Benevento, the "Good Friday Concert" at the Basilica of S. Bartolomeo (now in its XIV edition), the "Gran Gala della Lirica" on August 24 of each year (now in its XVII edition), and the historic "Cittaspettacolo" in various editions, including an inauguration, etc.  Most of these events have seen the participation of the musical and orchestral groups established within the Cooperative (Benevento Chamber Orchestra, Campania International Orchestra, etc.) along with numerous prestigious guest ensembles such as the Orchestra of the Varna Theater, the Craiova Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Russian Symphony of Udmurtia, but I will provide further details about this later.  Among the many events organized, the participation of top-level opera artists should be noted, including:   Katia Ricciarelli, Dimitra Theodossiou, Cecilia Gasdia, Ines Salazar, Maria Dragoni, Chiara Taigi,Giorgio Merighi (*),Nicola Martinucci,Piero Giuliacci,Alberto Mastromarino, guitarist Oscar,Ghiglia (*),the pianist Lya De Barberiis ( *),the television flautist Andrea Griminelli, the, pianist Francesco Nicolosi, the shoulder of the Teatro alla Scala Francesco De, Angelis,And with actors like:,Giancarlo Giannini,Michele Placido,Mariano Rigillo,Alessandro,Preziosi,Rocco Papaleo,Massimo Ghini,Edoardo Siravo,i registi Vittorio Sgarbi,K.Ricciarelli,Massimo Patroni Griffi, and many Contaminations with:,the late Lucio Dalla,Il,Volo,Mariano Rigillo,Roberto Vecchioni,Ivana Spagna,Antonella Ruggiero,Ron,Tullio De Piscopo.

A special mention is made of the production and programming of operas, continuing the vocation of the city of Benevento at the Roman Theater (1st century AD), which has hosted ministerial opera seasons since 1969 (law 800) for about 30 years before being suddenly interrupted.  Over the years, productions of LA TRAVIATA, NABUCCO, TROVATORE, RIGOLETTO, PAGLIACCI, as well as countless operatic galas, etc., have been entirely produced on site and have involved the participation of many of the previously mentioned renowned artists.  The organization of operas in Benevento is in response to the specific desire to revive the historic opera season, which, as previously mentioned, began with law 800 in 1969 and resumed the ancient vocation of the city with its Municipal Theater. This theater was inaugurated in 1863 with "LA MUTA di PORTICI" by Mayerbeer and has seen the succession of up to 11 titles on the city billboards during the successful season of 1906.   Clearly, the previously mentioned productions have also allowed for tours in regional centers - Opera at the Arena del Mare in Salerno, Caserta, Avellino - as well as many festivals with which partnerships, twinnings, and co-productions have been established. Among these, we can recall the Lyrical Season at the Roman Amphitheater in Terni, "ARMONIEDARTEFESTIVAL", MATERA in Music, MarateaOperaFestival, etc., which have been very successful because they have combined musical beauty with the architectural, archaeological, and scenic beauty of the many selected places, making them a real treat for tourists and audiences.  Among these productions, the Verdi Bicentennial (1813/2013) with Lyric programming at the Roman Theater of Benevento was selected - with funding - as a Special Project/Region of Campania.  Special attention is given to "cultural" events as a moment of integration, convergence, collaboration, and interaction between music, theater, archaeology/history, and multimedia:  PLACIDO, GIANNINI, RIGILLO, SIRAVO, GHINI, PREZIOSI, and others are some of the VOICES that have participated in integrated projects where the SPOKEN WORD was the guide to paths that, spanning history and theater - in an archaeological site or castle - were complemented by MUSIC that interacted with projections, images, and colors to create new suggestions and emotional experiences... as emotional experimentation, etc.  Notable examples include The Magic of Sound and Words (E. Siravo) in Salerno, Specters at the Castle of Angri (M. Placido), Peter and the Wolf (A. Preziosi), Scolacium (M. Ghini), and Benevento City-Theater 2010, etc.  The previously announced foreign cultural partnership and exchange has been a highlight of the activity, allowing prestigious orchestral ensembles such as the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Archi del Teatro Alla Scala, SBS RadioSymphony Youth Orchestra of Sydney, etc. to be heard in Benevento and many other regional and non-regional centers, including Foggia, Catanzaro, Potenza, Matera, Salerno, Cosenza, Messina, Pescara, Arezzo, Venice, and more. The recent collaborations with the Russian Symphony Orchestra of Udmurtia (sponsored by the Russian Embassy in Rome and the Russian Ministry of Culture) and the National Orchestra of Pavlodar (sponsored by the Kazah Ministry and the Kazakh Embassy in Rome) are particularly significant. Additionally, the MAE Certification from Office VIII D.G. for the Promotion of the Country System has been obtained.  AT THE SAME TIME, MUSICAINSIEME HAS ESTABLISHED 2 INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLES:  01. Chamber Orchestra of Benevento 02. Campania International Orchestra  orchestras that carry out planned concert activities throughout the calendar year - depending on the occasion - provide employment opportunities for many students who graduate from the 4 conservatories in Campania, as well as the chance to gain practical musical experience. The main events include the "Good Friday Concert" in Benevento, which is also replicated in other locations throughout the region (Pomigliano d'Arco, Avellino, Scario, Caserta, etc.), as well as performances of Mozart's "Requiem" with the collaboration of professional choirs (such as the Choir of Lecce, Sicilian Lyric Choir, Apulian Lyric Choir, etc.) in Pisticci, Cava de 'Tirreni, Avellino, and other places. The Campania International Orchestra/symphonic is also noteworthy, having accompanied IL VOLO during their only show in the South at the Arena Flegrea in Naples in September 2014, which was televised. Additionally, the orchestra has participated in the Mascagnano Festival 2020, Città spettacolo 2020, and other events.  Another significant activity is Musicainsieme's collaboration with various municipal bodies to realize the POCs and POR/FESR 2007/2013 and 2014/2020, in which the organization provides all musical services and artistic convection (such as RIARDOBORGOFESTIVAL 2019, Agerola - PATH of the GODS from 2012 to 2020, Summonte "Concerts at the Abbey" ed. 2014,15,18, Mercogliano Festival, Arpaise "Lucciole e stelle" ed. 2019, etc.).  Several international co-productions between Musicainsieme and the Russe Opera House (Bulgaria) have enabled young singers, selected through auditions, to perform abroad in the operas FALSTAFF 2018 and I PESCATORI DI PERLE 2017. These operas were produced in Italy (Avellino, Bitonto, and Ripatransone) and then exported. The singers studied them as OPERASTAGE productions before making their debut.  The proper attention to talented young people, as well as opportunities for music education and employment, are always the goals of MUSICAINSIEME.  Last but certainly not least, the many cross-genre and alternative musical productions that have allowed young people to explore symphonic pop music, the use of symphonic orchestra in pop, and the symphonic sound in popular music. MUSICAINSIEME has entirely produced:  For the 40th anniversary celebrations of the POOH's "PARSIFAL" LP - (among the first and certainly the most grandiose of the PROG LPs) - with their orchestral formation and four choirs, a series of six live concerts were performed with the extraordinary participation of ROBY FACCHINETTI (Reggia di Caserta, Castello Lancellotti/Lauro (AV), tourist port of Procida (future city of culture 2022), Marina di Maratea, BlubarFestival XIV in Francavilla a Mare (PE), and Torre del Greco).  To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the career of New Trolls/Vittorio De Scalzi, a series of concerts took place in many locations, starting from Teatro San Carlo (prime time on RAI PREMIUM), featuring the complete version of CONCERTO GROSSO by Luis Bacalov, performed by a symphonic orchestra and band (Naples, Benevento, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Salerno, etc.).  Musicainsieme has also participated in many television events with its musical and orchestral ensembles (RAI2 CANZONI e SFIDE /29 XII 2012, RAI PREMIUM from Teatro S.Carlo, TalenT'S Fest from the Belvedere of S.Leucio/Reggia Caserta, etc.)  The production of several CDs completes the range of activities carried out, mainly focused on charitable causes. The proceeds were donated to charity in collaboration with Unitalsi Benevento, Benevento per Africa, and others

 HISTORY

 CAMPANIA INTERNATIONAL ORCHESTRA

The International Orchestra of Campania was established to promote the internationalization of music in the Campania region, which has become a melting pot of musicians from various countries studying in Italy, particularly in Naples, a world-renowned hub of musical culture.  Conceived by Maestro Leonardo Quadrini and directly affiliated with regional symphony orchestras, the ensemble comprises the finest musicians from Sannio, Irpinia, Salerno, Caserta, and Naples.  The orchestra is currently composed of teachers from Campanian conservatories (Naples, Avellino, Salerno, and Benevento), orchestra conductors, and music teachers.  The group has performed concerts for many seasons, both in Italy and abroad, and has also appeared on television shows (Rai2, Sky, regional TV, etc.).  Currently led by the talented son of Maestro Quadrini, Veacesvla, who is also the founder of the orchestra, the group offers diverse and brilliant programs.
Many prestigious soloists have already performed with the orchestra, including Renzo Ruggieri, Antonella Ruggiero, Roby Facchinetti, and Enzo Gragnaniello, among others.
